This month we were thrilled to chat with Alexis Foreman, one of the faces of our Holiday ‘26 campaign. 
Alexis is a Brighton, UK-based art director, style curator, and creative consultant whose work spans fashion, beauty, interiors, travel and lifestyle. We’ve long admired her considered point of view and effortless approach to timeless style, always finding inspiration via her Instagram and Substack. Here Alexis shares her journey from graphic designer to full-time content creator, her advice for honing personal style, and how she’s getting dressed for the season.

QUESTION 01

HOW DID YOU TRANSITION FROM GRAPHIC DESIGNER TO FULL-TIME CONTENT CREATOR?

In 2010 I started a blog as a kind of online scrapbook, sharing things I loved—fashion, beauty, art, and design. To be honest, I was a terrible blogger. My boys were young and I was freelancing, so I hardly had time to post. Then Instagram came along and I found it so much easier. I loved how quick and simple it was to share. As my content grew, so did my following, to the point where it was compromising my full-time design job. I had a decision to make—give up content creation or give up my job. Hardly anyone was doing it as a career back then, but I felt it was worth the risk, so I left and haven't looked back.

QUESTION 02

IN A WORLD OF ENDLESS OPTIONS AND VISUAL NOISE, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO IS STILL FINDING THEIR PERSONAL STYLE?

Despite how much is on offer, everyone gravitates towards a particular style that resonates with them. Stay true to that and don't get distracted by the rest. I think clothing is functional first, so make sure what you choose fits well, feels comfortable and suits its purpose. There's nothing worse than ill-fitting or impractical pieces. I'm also a believer in "buy cheap, buy twice." It's better to invest in the quality version, even if it costs more upfront, because in the long run it's well worth it.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO FORMULA FOR A POLISHED BUT EFFORTLESS WINTER OUTFIT?

A neutral palette, sharp tailoring, and one considered texture. I'll build around a well-cut coat or blazer, usually in black, navy, or grey, and then I’ll add a soft, lightweight knit underneath so I’m warm, not overheating! I style accessories last and I always keep them simple and well made.

“I play with proportions and textures to keep things interesting. I love oversized coats and tailoring, and I'll often add interesting or statement footwear to a simple look. I also like a pop of color when the balance feels right. A bright red knit tied around the waist, for instance, works beautifully with a neutral outfit.”
