High summer calls for fresh fashion inspiration, so we turned to creative muses (and sisters!) Dylana and Natalie Lim Suarez to learn the secrets behind their distinctive styles.



Dylana @dylanasuarez is a content creator and writer; Natalie @natalieoffduty is the model, influencer, and editor behind the blog Natalie Off Duty. The multi-hyphenate, multi-talented sisters showcase their own unique fashion and lifestyle content through their respective individual lenses, while inviting their communities into their world with their signature collaborative projects.



We spoke with Dylana and Natalie about their shopping philosophies, how they truly go off duty, and what they’re loving right now.

QUESTION 01

How does content creation influence your personal style?

I always get dressed to truly feel good. Personal style is all about a feeling and a mood and really creating your own identity. Style and getting dressed has always given me the confidence to go after my dreams. [Natalie Off Duty] evolved into a personal diary sharing my travel stories and what I'm wearing as a model "off duty," but in a very editorial, high fashion way. Sometimes I'm inspired by a past decade, or I'm incorporating my cultural heritage into my looks. - NATALIE

“Content creation gives me a great reason and motivation to put on an outfit I feel good in and connect with my community over a shared love of fashion and personal style. I love to be able to share the things that bring me little creative joys.”

QUESTION 02

What is your shopping philosophy— do you go for trends or timelessness?

I definitely lean far more towards timelessness. I want...pieces that I know will live for a very long time in my wardrobe. So I need to make sure the pieces I’m investing in are versatile. I need to imagine it with what I already have in my wardrobe. If styling ideas or scenarios already start to pop into my head, and they are ideas that I get excited about wanting to wear as soon as possible, then I feel like I am making the right buying choice. - DYLANA

NATALIE LIM SUAREZ

“Dylana and I have been photographing our own content since day one. It's amazing to work together, and create content with someone who shares your same eye for art, design, and style. It's so fun to have a sister in this business to travel with, to go to events with, and simply share all these incredible moments with.”

QUESTION 03

How do you truly go “off duty”? How do you turn off, unplug, and reset?

I meditate and I chant "nam myoho renge kyo" which is a Buddhist mantra, twice a day. It's a practice that's given me so much balance and really pushes to reach my highest potential. I'm also spending a lot of time outside. I'm usually on my bike on the weekends, cycling around the Brooklyn Heights Piers. I love moving my body and staying active. I dance. I sing. It all gets my energy moving and puts me in that higher vibration.- NATALIE

“I love wearing my NAGHEDI slides and tote bag in the warmer months with my capris or a sheer skirt, a swimsuit, and an oversized shirt worn open as a cover up on top. And I like to play around with fun and off beat color combinations. I always love a pop of red. This is my go-to summer look.”

What are you reading/watching/loving right now? 

Right now I am reading a book called Little Eyes by Argentinian writer Samantha Schweblin and it’s really captivating me. I’m watching every movie by Éric Rohmer, specifically the films in his Tales of the Four Seasons collection, and also films by Agnès Varda. Right now, I am loving spending long afternoons at The Met, and I am really loving vintage shopping in Brooklyn and finding more vintage mix and match frames to add to my wall of art at home.- DYLANA
