When I designed our first tote a decade ago, the market was missing a bag that felt elegant, but also not so precious. Realistically, my bags end up on the floor, they carry my kids’ beach toys, I throw them in the back of the car or under the seat on a plane. I created a bag that could go with me everywhere, while looking elegant in the process. 

I’m proud to announce the launch of our footwear line, an exciting new chapter for the brand! The inspiration to create a shoe collection came while packing for vacation. I couldn’t find a sandal that functioned like the original St. Barths Tote, moving seamlessly from sand to street. I don’t like packing a lot of shoes when I travel, so I want to be able to wear the same pair of sandals from the beach to dinner without sacrificing style. 

Our debut styles are the sandals I had been searching for: a classic slide, an elegant platform, and a slingback perfect for exploring. Our design process prioritizes timelessness, elegance, and function. We’ve translated the details we love from our bags to our shoes, like the Havana fringe and striped patterns. Each pair features our signature neoprene and distinctive weave on a smaller scale.

We put tremendous care into the design and production of our bags, and the same is true for footwear. We never produce our neoprene weave in bulk; each neoprene component of our sandals–including insoles, straps, and uppers–are handwoven to order by our most skilled artisans for each individual shoe. In keeping with our ethos, our shoes are made in limited quantities in order to minimize waste.
